How Are My Tax Dollars Spent?

I'm not sure where the author gets the data for this info-graphic on US government tax spending but it is still an interesting way to breakdown U.S. government spending.   And as you know, I'm a statistics nerd.  So of course, I have a favorite statistic.  For the average tax bill of $4,597, $21.52 goes to pay for federal prisons - that's 8 hours 28 minutes of inmate time.  At $60.76 per day, it sounds like a pretty good deal - that's less than a night at Motel 6 and three meals at McDonalds.
